Wasps Wings
Wasps wings are remarkable, flapping at around 400 times per second and allowing them to turn, hover and land with precision. With the wasps wings flapping at such a high speed, they create vortexes of air that result inbetween 5 and 6 times the lift a fixed wing can produce. With the wasps wings beating as fast as they do and producing vast amounts of lift, the wasp is able to manoeuvre greatly. Wasps wings are made from Chitin that are plate like extensions of their outer skeleton that are given strength from a framework of hollow chitinous tubes called veins.
